Explore Scientific AR102
A 102mm achromatic refractor (OTA only) that punches above its price. At f/6.5 and 660mm focal length, the AR102 is wide enough for open clusters and bright nebulae, sharp enough for the Moon and planets at moderate magnification. The dual-speed Crayford focuser and 2-inch drawtube are upgrades you would expect on a more expensive scope. Chromatic aberration is present at higher magnifications — inherent in all achromat designs — but manageable for most visual use. A strong entry-level refractor OTA for someone who already owns a suitable mount or wants to pair it with an alt-azimuth.
