Orion SkyQuest XT10 Classic Dobsonian

The XT10 is where visual astronomy starts to feel serious. At 254mm the 10-inch Dobsonian will show faint galaxy structure, dense globular cores, and planetary nebulae as proper discs. The tube is manageable and no ladder is needed at the eyepiece. The fast focal ratio (f/4.7) rewards the use of better eyepieces. The XT10 is the telescope that owners rarely regret buying but often wish they had bought earlier — a step up in capability that is immediately visible at the eyepiece.
