What you'll see
The 130mm parabolic mirror collects enough light to show real structure in deep-sky objects: the Orion Nebula reveals its trapezium stars and sweeping nebulosity, globular clusters like M13 take on a granular texture at higher magnification, and galaxies beyond M31 become genuinely accessible as faint smudges. The 650mm focal length and f/5 ratio give a wide true field of view, making open clusters like the Double Cluster and the Pleiades look spectacular with resolved stars scattered across the eyepiece.
On the planets, Saturn shows its rings clearly and Jupiter displays its equatorial cloud belts and all four Galilean moons. Mars at opposition reveals a small but distinctly orange disc with hints of a polar cap. The Moon is a standout — 130mm delivers sharp crater walls, mountain ranges, and rille detail, especially along the terminator.
The GoTo mount's real advantage is that it finds and then tracks objects for you, so you spend time observing rather than hunting. The SynScan app's database of thousands of objects means you can hop quickly between targets on a clear night, which is transformative for beginners still learning the sky.
Worth knowing before you buy
Tabletop design requires a separate sturdy table or pier — no tripod is included, and wobbly surfaces transmit vibration…
The f/5 focal ratio produces noticeable coma (comet-shaped star distortion) at the field edges, particularly visible wit…
The open tube design means the primary mirror is exposed to dew, dust, and stray light — a light shroud or dew shield is…
